IMG_7711T.J. Thorne is the owner of Howdy Home Inspections, LLC.  The son of a custom homebuilder, he started his first inspection company in Florida in 2000 after graduating from college in Alaska.  Since that time he has seen and done it all.  He has completed thousands of inspections and market analyses of foreclosed homes on behalf of some of the largest banks in the country.  He has over 15 years of “hands on” construction experience, having renovated houses throughout the Carolinas and West Virginia.  He has gutted houses down to the studs and rebuilt them from the ground up with his own hands.  He has re-wired and re-plumbed houses, built additions, renovated kitchens and bathrooms, put on new roofs.  You name it and T.J. has done it.  He is an IAC2 Certified Mold AND Radon inspector.  He also has over 10 years experience as a licensed real estate broker in North Carolina.  No other inspector in the area has such in depth knowledge in all areas of residential real estate and construction.  T.J. is an InterNACHI certified inspector who is licensed in North Carolina and South Carolina.  When not inspecting houses, T.J. can be found riding his mountain bike on many of the local trails or hiking in the NC mountains with his beautiful wife, Marta and awesome little son, Boone.  You can reach T.J. at (704) 756-0250 to schedule a home inspection.

Beyond his qualifications, what sets T.J. apart as one of the best home inspectors in the region? “Hands on Experience” – Just because a home inspector has a background as a general contractor, does not mean that they have actual experience building and repairing houses with their own hands. Because T.J. has over 15 years of “hands on” building experience, he can not only find the problems in your house, but he can tell you the best way to have them repaired.  T.J. can answer questions like, “Is upgrading that electrical panel going to be costly?” “How big of a problem is that rotten sub-floor under that shower?” “What’s involved in replacing all the old galvanized piping with copper or PEX?”  “Is PEX even OK to use?”  T.J. can give you sound advice as to the headache a particular problem will create, so you can make a wise and informed decision.

I’m a home inspector.  I do not sell houses… I inspect them!  When you hire me, I work only for you.  I don’t work for the seller, your lender or your real estate agent. You hired me to inspect your home and that’s what I’m going to do. My goal is to give you the most thorough inspection I can, explained in an easy-to-understand report with photos that give you a clear understanding of the state of your house. Whether you are buying a new house or selling your home and want to know about potential problems that could put the sale at risk, I am the home inspector you want on the job. When I get done you’ll be asking, “HOWDY find so many problems with that house?”

Give me a call today to schedule your personal home inspection. I’m licensed in NC and SC and am ready to go to work for you today!
