Howdy y’all,
Welcome the first official Howdy Home Inspection blog post. I’m T.J. Thorne and I’m the owner of Howdy Home Inspections. I’m a nut when it comes to construction, home renovations and real estate. I’ve been doing this stuff for over fifteen years and this is what I was born to do. Plumbing, electrical, framing, home renovations, flipping houses, renovating kitchens, you name it and I’ve done it. I’ve renovated houses from North Carolina to West Virginia and have seen and done some awesome and crazy things!
I can’t wait to share some of those experiences with you on this blog. I’m going to have videos showing some of the scary and dangerous things I’ve seen while inspecting houses. I’m also plan to have some great articles on DIY projects you can do around your house. I want this blog to be a place to meet new folks, answer questions, talk construction and real estate and just have a fun time. I’m not going to be posting any boring stuff that nobody wants to read. What’s the point of that?
Also, if you have questions about anything, shoot me an email or give me a call. If you’re stuck in the middle of a DIY project and you’re not sure how to get out of it, maybe I can offer some helpful advice. I’m a Charlottean born and raised, and the term “Community” is a big deal to me. If you need help or have any questions just ask me.
So now that you know what this blog’s about (and I’ve only typed 265 words) let me tell you a little bit about myself. I was born in Charlotte and graduated from Charlotte Country Day School. After high school I traveled around North and South America climbing mountains and in 1997 I ended up in Alaska. I loved AK and knew I should go to college, so I decided to stay up there and get it done!
While I was there, I met a smoking hot Cuban gal from Miami. We finished college together, got married and moved to Florida, where I started my first home inspection company. I did that for several years and began buying and renovating houses. I got my real estate license and continued to buy and renovate houses. We moved from city-to-city and state-to-state, seeing the country and fixing up houses. From Florida to West Virginia and as far west as Oregon we lived everywhere and saw it all.
Once we settled down, back home in NC, I started Howdy Home Inspections, LLC where I rekindled my love of crawlspaces and camel crickets. I love my job and it’s evident in every inspection I do. I named my business “Howdy” because I knew that’s what folks were going to be saying after I finished inspecting their home. “Howdy get so Awesome at inspecting houses?” At least that’s how they say it down here in the south.
Be Happy and Be Kind,
T.J. Thorne
