When Should You Consider Mold or Air Quality Testing?
If you or your family have been dealing with ongoing “allergy-like” symptoms, headaches, or just don’t feel quite right inside your home, air quality testing can help provide clearer answers. In some cases, there may also be a musty or unusual smell that you can’t explain or get rid of.
Many air quality concerns are not always visible, and small issues can go unnoticed without proper testing. Subtle changes in how your home smells or how you feel inside it can point to underlying conditions that are worth understanding.
Air quality testing helps take the uncertainty out of the situation by providing real, lab-backed information about your indoor environment at the time of sampling, so you can make more informed decisions about your home.
- You’ve noticed musty or unusual odors that don’t go away
- There has been a recent leak, water damage, or moisture issue
- You or your family feel worse or different while inside the home
- You are buying or selling and want a clearer understanding of the environment
- You’ve seen staining or suspect possible mold growth
- You want peace of mind about the air you and your family are breathing
Simple, Fast and Professional
A straightforward process designed to give you reliable, lab-backed information about your indoor air.
Step 1
Sample Collection
We collect air samples from key areas inside the home, along with an outdoor control sample for accurate comparison. This helps establish a baseline and identify any differences between indoor and outdoor air conditions at the time of testing.
Step 2
Lab Analysis
All samples are sent to a certified laboratory (EMSL) for professional analysis. The lab identifies the types and concentrations of airborne mold spores present in each sample.
Step 3
Clear Results
You receive a clear, easy-to-understand summary report that explains the findings and how indoor levels compare to the outdoor sample. The report is designed to help you better understand the conditions observed at the time of testing.
Most results are available within 24–72 hours, allowing you to quickly move forward with clarity and confidence.

What Air Quality Testing Actually Tells You
Air quality testing helps show how the air inside your home compares to the outdoor environment. By using an outdoor control sample as a baseline, we can identify whether indoor spore levels are typical or elevated at the time of testing.
It can help reveal the presence of common airborne mold spores, even when there are no visible signs of growth. This provides a clearer understanding of what may be circulating through your home’s air.
Results also reflect how factors such as humidity, ventilation, HVAC operation, and recent moisture conditions may be influencing indoor air quality. Because these conditions can change, testing provides a snapshot of the environment at the time the samples are collected.
Overall, this process helps remove guesswork and gives you reliable, lab-backed information so you can better understand your home and make more informed decisions.

Why It Matters
Indoor air can contain elevated levels of mold spores even when no visible growth is present. These levels can vary based on humidity, ventilation, HVAC operation, and recent moisture conditions.
Air quality testing provides a clearer understanding of how indoor conditions compare to the outdoor environment at the time of sampling. This helps remove guesswork and gives you reliable information to better understand your home.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need testing if I do not see mold?
Mold can be present in areas that are not visible, such as behind walls, in attics, or within HVAC systems. Air quality testing helps identify what may be in the air even when there are no obvious signs of growth.
How long does the process take?
The on-site sampling typically takes about 30 minutes to 2 hours, depending on the size of the home and number of samples collected. Most lab results are available within 48 to 72 hours after the samples are submitted.
Do you perform mold remediation?
No. We focus strictly on testing and reporting. Because we do not offer remediation services, our results remain unbiased and focused on providing clear information about the conditions at the time of testing.
What makes this different from a standard home inspection?
A standard home inspection is primarily a visual evaluation of accessible areas. Air quality testing specifically analyzes airborne particles and mold spores using lab testing, which provides information that cannot be determined through a visual inspection alone.
How many samples are needed?
At minimum, we collect one outdoor control sample and two or more indoor samples. Most homes are tested with two indoor samples to provide a more accurate representation of the indoor environment.
Will this tell me if my home is safe?
Air quality testing provides information about the types and levels of airborne particles present at the time of sampling. Results reflect conditions at that specific time and do not guarantee the absence of mold or future changes in air quality.
